Sheriff's deputies in Bell County are investigating the attempted kidnapping of a young girl Saturday evening just west of Troy.

According to deputies, the girl was in the front yard of her grandparent’s home on FM 1237 when a truck pulled up and a male passenger exited the vehicle and approached the girl. The girl ran into the house and alerted her grandparents. The man then got back into the vehicle, which sped off. The girl was unharmed.

The passenger is described at a white male, 6’, 150 to 160 lbs, wearing blue jeans and a brown hoodie. The driver is described as a black male with a crew cut hair style. The two were in a brown late model 80’s or early 90’s pickup with running boards, a white stripe down the side and a loud exhaust.
