Car Runs off Bridge and Into Trees East of Seaton

A driver was taken to an area hospital Thursday after veering off a bridge on Highway 53.

The accident was reported shortly before 11 a.m. The driver of a Volkswagen Jetta experienced a medical emergency and steered off a bridge between Seaton and Rosebud, landing in some nearby trees.

The car was severely damaged, but the driver is said to be in stable condition at Scott & White Memorial Hospital in Temple. The crash remains under investigation.
