This is the guy who tricked the lady. He was smart enough to fool her but not smart enough to get away Scot Free!

According to Killeen Police this is what happened.  On Tuesday, March 3,  a man pretending to be an electric company worker showed up at the victim's house and said he had to check the meter. When he touched the meter, he acted like he got a shock. He then said the meter needed to be fixed and she had to pay for it. The victim gave the guy cash and also wrote him a check. The check was written out to James Heally.

The guy took the money and said he would be back the next day to fix the meter. He never showed. By the time the woman tried to stop payment on the check, it was too late. "James" had already cashed it.

Well, turns out that was good news, because the man who cashed the check is on the bank's security camera footage. Police got a photo from that, circulated it on Wednesday morning, by Wednesday evening, the suspect had been identified. Way to go "James".

Tell your Grandmas and Grandpas about this scam.  In fact tell them not to trust anybody who shows up at their door demanding money.  The BBB has a whole website dedicated to educating us about scams.
