After weeks in intensive care, a 2-month-old baby who nearly drowned at an unregistered Killeen daycare is now home from the hospital.

A statement issued by the Killeen Police Department Monday said the baby, whose identity has not been made public, was released Monday from Temple's Baylor Scott & White Hospital in good condition.

The baby was admitted to the ICU on Wednesday, January 13 after the owner of an unregistered home daycare in Killeen left the child unattended in a bath tub, where the child was later discovered lying face down in the water.

Charges against the caretaker are pending, and investigators were presenting their case to the Bell County District Attorney's Office Monday.
