Copperas Cove Shooting Suspect Jailed in Williamson County

A man suspected of shooting two people on West Business Highway 190 in Copperas Cove Friday is behind bars.

20-year-old Daniel Joseph Leonelli was arrested late Friday in Austin. He was arraigned Saturday and charged with two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and one count of family violence. He's currently in the Williamson County Jail with bond set at $150,000.

Leonelli is accused of shooting two people as he and the victims were driving in the 1000 block of West Business 190. Leonelli reportedly fled the scene, and the two victims were taken to Metroplex hospital. Police say the victims know Leonelli, but have not yet released further details.
