A medical helicopter from Seguin made a hard landing outside of a Houston area hospital Monday evening.

The Medical AirCare helicopter crashed in a grassy area near a helipad outside of Memorial Hermann Hospital around 7 PM after dropping off a patient. The back end of the craft’s tail rotor was snapped by the impact.

According to witnesses, the helicopter landed perfectly, but shot into the air minutes later and began to spin near the top of the hospital before crashing to the ground.

The pilot, paramedic, and nurse aboard the helicopter were not injured, and hospital officials say no patients were onboard. The aircraft was reportedly returning from a fuel run and picking up the three crew members when the crash occurred.
