Former Killeen Police Officer Christopher Morris has been arrested after an indictment on sexual assault charges. Morris, who was fired on June 6th, was indicted by a grand jury for sexual assault and official oppression on Wednesday.

Police spokeswoman Carol said in a press release that Morris was placed on leave in December of 2015 after police were made aware of his possible involvement in a sexual assault case.

He will be held accountable for any criminal conduct in a court of law

Killeen police Chief Dennis Baldwin said, "Christopher Morris’ actions violated the trust and faith placed in him by the community and this department. His conduct is inexcusable and will not be tolerated. He will be held accountable for any criminal conduct in a court of law,” Morris was placed in jail. His bond is set at $200,000.

No additional details have been released since this morning.
