It's a good weekend for spring cleaning in Killeen as the city prepares for another FREE Household Hazardous Waste Collection day on Saturday, March 18th.

If you live in Killeen, you can get rid of household hazardous waste from 9am to 2pm at Central Bell County Fire and Rescue in Nolanville (100 North Main Street). You can find a list of acceptable chemicals to bring to the collection day at www.killeentexas.gov/hhw.

It's ok to bring petroleum products, corrosives, fertilizers, cleaners, pesticides, paint, automotive liquids, and fluorescent lamps. You can also bring expired batteries and up to four passenger car or light truck tires.

Items that will NOT be accepted include ammunition, explosives, medical waste, radioactive material, compressed glass cylinders, and commercial tires.
