Killeen police are investigating a Tuesday morning shooting at a hotel on South Fort Hood Street.

Kathleen Serie with our news partner, KWTX, writes that police responded to a report of gunfire at the Amco Hotel and Suites (404 S Fort Hood St) around 1 AM. As they were responding, the victim reportedly walked into a nearby 7-Eleven store with a gunshot wound.

The 43-year-old victim told police he'd been shot at the Amco Hotel. He was taken to Seton Medical Center in Harker Heights in stable condition.

KWTX reports that police are also investigating a traffic chase that began in the area of the shooting and ended near the corner of Roy Reynolds Drive and Rancier Avenue. Police have not said if the two cases are related.
