Officials have released the name of the Rosebud-Lott ISD bus driver arrested Monday.

Ralph Ucciferro was stopped by police Monday morning after a concerned student texted her mother about his erratic driving. Ucciferro was given a breathalyzer test and found to be over the legal limit. He was taken to Falls Community Hospital to have blood drawn before being moved to the Falls County Jail. He now faces state felony charges of driving while intoxicated with a child 15 years or younger and has been fired by Rosebud-Lott ISD.

There were around 50 children aboard the bus when Ucciferro was stopped, ranging from kindergarten through 12th grade. No one was injured

According to Superintendent Anthony Price, Ucciferro had been with the district for 17 years and had never had any complaints against him, nor had he failed any monthly drug screenings.

The incident remains under investigation, and Ucciferro could face further charges in addition to the felony DWI.
