Harker Heights teen, Anthony Dorsett, 17, is the latest victim of the Summer water.

There has been over 80 drownings this year in Texas. Mr. Dorsett died this past Saturday morning while swimming at the Hamilton Pool Preserve outside of Austin.

According to KWTX, the Sheriff's deputies, along with paramedics, responded around 10:20 Friday morning after Dorsett was reported missing. When they arrived, Dorsett had been pulled from the pool and was being given CPR.

Travis County Sheriff's Office spokesperson Kristen Dark said that paramedics were able to detect a weak pulse so he was flown to UMC Barackenridge, where he died just before 7 a.m. Saturday.

The Travis County Medical Examiner's Office ruled that he died of anoxic encephalopathy. That would be oxygen deprivation to the brain, which is associated with freshwater drownings.

Dorsett would've started his Senior year next Monday at Harker Heights High School. His family and friends said he was a confident, happy teen, who loved listening to music, playing football, and making people smile.

A funeral service is scheduled for noon Thursday at Harker Heights' Heritage Funeral Home.
