Army CID Agents, FBI investigating Liberty Village Shooting

Fort Hood officials have issued a press release concerning a shooting that took place Tuesday night at the post's Liberty Village housing center. It reads as follows:

QUANTICO, Va. (CID Public Affairs) - Special Agents from the U.S. Army Criminal Investigation Command and the FBI are investigating an on-post shooting that occurred at the Liberty Village Housing Area basketball court yesterday at approximately 8:30 p.m.

The housing area is not on the main post and is in an area where there are no gate guards, but is patrolled by Military Police from Fort Hood.

A non-DOD affiliated civilian male was allegedly assaulted and then shot by an unknown individual(s) following a brief argument. The victim was transported by ambulance to the hospital.
