After visiting Texas many times, Louisiana native Darren Gauthier has finally crossed over the Sabine Pass into the Lone Star State as the new Operations Manager for Townsquare Media’s five stations in Central Texas. Originally from New Orleans, Darren grew up in nearby Baton Rouge and is a proud alum of LSU. Darren got his start at the campus radio station KLSU, rising to the role of station manager before being lured to work in the exciting world of New Orleans rock radio. Darren returned to Baton Rouge in 2001 rising to the top of the programming food chain while holding down a six-day airshift for a decade. One of the stations he oversaw was twice-nominated for the prestigious Marconi award - radio’s version of the Oscar® - in 2012 and again in 2015. Seeking new challenges and a change of scene, Darren Gauthier was recruited by K-101.7 and the sister stations to bring a personal touch and a renewed sense of community focus to the stations in Killeen and Temple.

Post-Christmas Texas Weather Outlook
One would need to be blind or quarantined indoors to notice the weather and its unseasonably warmer quality.
Be thankful: my hometown had rain today. Not that we needed any more of that this year.
As for the rest of the week, it has its ups and downs...
Enjoy Your Tamales on Christmas in Texas!
Before moving to Central Texas, even though I've spent a lot of time in Texas and around Mexican families, I didn't know tamales on Christmas was a thing. I wholeheartedly approve.

How Compatible are Trump and Texans?
As Grandpa Jones famously sang, T for Texas. But what else? Trump? Maybe.
I came upon a fascinating column from the New York Times and their Texas correspondant, Manny Fernandez. In it, he quotes several politicians as saying the president-elect's brusque style, most notably in the way he addresses and treats women...
Dallas Cowboys’ Jerry Jones Has Words For Temple Wildcats After State Championship Loss
A lot of folks have a lot of opinions about Jerry Jones. I myself used to be a big time Cowboys fan myself until Jones pulled that Jimmy Johnson/Barry Switzer switcheroo after Johnson won a Super Bowl for the man. His continuing fascination with Johnny Football displays a flaw in moral outlook...
Texas No Longer The National Leader in Executions
Once upon a time, Texas was as known for executing criminals as it was for the Alamo and waffles in the shape of the Lone Star State.
Amarillo Pastor Acts Like a Grinch, Not Jesus in Department Store
He's even posted a video of his group, Repent Amarillo, executing Santa Claus. What a joyous holiday image.
That's not the impression I get when I see the so-called pastor in the story.
