Jamie Garrett

I began my radio career in 1996 in Oklahoma City, OK. The day after high school graduation in Choctaw, OK I got my first radio job, thus ruining me forever and ensuring I'd never again be a productive member of society. It wasn't a storybook fairytale, as my first assignment was wearing the radio station's mascot costume, suffering through an Oklahoma summer in what I'd describe as a "full-body fur coat". It was at this time that I also began the first of two wonderful freshmen years at the University of Oklahoma. My first on-air gig came at KATT-FM & KYIS-FM. The station was brand new KZ-94, and it would be only 8 months before my 2nd love would call... Texas. I came to Waco doing the afternoon drive show for rock station 102.5 The Bear. After moving on from The Bear and a brief stop in Temple, we moved to Anchorage, AK in 2002 to do a morning show in the great white north. It was fun, it was cold, and after what seemed like a two-year vacation it was back to Central Texas. After spending 6 years working for Eagle 101.7 and KTEM-AM, I was given the opportunity to get my claws into US 105. If there's anything I can ever do for you, whether it's a song, a prayer or a "howdy" to get you through the day, please feel free to email or call me. You're the reason I'm here, and I couldn't be happier to share my life and my stories with you each and every day on US 105.

You Can Find the Strangest Things in the Attic

My job's not all about the music.  Sometimes I'm sent on the craziest quests.  From searching for Diet Lemon Ice Tea Snapple for a diva band to putting Christmas lights on a station van, I never know what's around the next corner.

Entire City Gets Involved as Make-a-Wish Grants Batman Wish

It's something the 49ers, the Golden State Warriors or even the recent world champion Giants couldn't do.  It's a wish granted by the Make-a-Wish organization that's brought the city of San Francisco together.  It's not to cheer on a sports team that's bringing them together.  It's a 5-year-old Leukemia patient that wants to be Bat-Kid for a day.
