My love affair with radio began in 1975, the first time I heard Queen blaring through the speakers in my Mama’s yellow, 1972 Ford LTD. “The Boat” as we referred to it, would be my first car years later, with Def Leppard and RATT blaring out of the radio. I’ve worked in a ton of radio formats, but rock is my all-time favorite and 80’s rock is my passion. Dokken, Warrant, Judas Priest, Queensryche, Tesla, Winger, Lillian Axe, Zebra, Firehouse, Def Leppard, Van Halen, Vixen, Extreme, Mr. Big, Damn Yankees, Steelheart, Giant, Iron Maiden, KIX…I could go on and on and on. Rock radio has given me some of the best friends and best times of my life. I’ve sat in a dressing room with Kid Rock discussing politics and crazy ex-girlfriends and I’ve hung out with Aerosmith’s Joe Perry at a south Louisiana crawfish boil. Then there was that time on a riverboat in New Orleans with the band The Darkness…. My basic uniform is ripped jeans and a baseball cap but I also wear Tony Lama’s. I love a great steak, but I also love my Texas Longhorns that call my pasture home. I love wine and cheese, but my version has Rotel mixed in. I was born in southern Georgia, grew up in southern Louisiana and in 2005, finally made it back to the state where my grandparents were born and raised. I now live in a century old farmhouse in the town where my Grandpaw was born. I wish he were here to see it. God has blessed me mightily with my family, my six adopted dogs, my three legged devil cat, my home in the beautiful Texas countryside and my life in the United States of America, the greatest nation in the world.
