The stage was set up for a showdown among two of the top teams in lady hoops in the NCAA. The Baylor Lady Bears came in as the #3 team in the NCAA ranks, and the Longhorns came in as the #6 team.

KWTX reported that this game was for top spot in the Big 12 ranks, and the Lady Bears made it known who was going to take the game.

Kristy Wallace for the Lady Bears led all scorers with 27 points, in route to the Lady Bears huge win 81-56 on Thursday night. The Lady Bears came out with all cylinders firing, and were up by ten points after the first quarter.

Lauren Cox and Kelani Brown each scored 17 points to help the Lady Bears onslaught of the Longhorns. Brooke McCarty led the Longhorns with 16 points, but by the end result she needed much more help.

The win keeps Baylor atop the Big 12 rankings, and pushes the Longhorns two games behind the Lady Bears.
