The Belton community gathered on Sunday for it's annual "Downs But Not Out" Walk in Heritage Park.

This walk to raise awareness and acceptance of Down Syndrome has been an annual gathering since 1995. Residents are treated to free food provided by local businesses, games, entertainment, and even a raffle.

The "Downs But Not Out" Walk is organized by Gary Knight who is thrilled the community always turns out in support of this event. Knight says, "So that they can come together in one cause, and that's to be unified so they can raise awareness, so they can embrace the gift of what's in Down Syndrome children. It's not what they are, it's who they are, and that's what is most important."

Proceeds from the event raffle will help pay for the costs of the free day.
