The body of a missing Harker Heights man was recovered from Stillhouse Hollow Lake Tuesday afternoon.

57-year-old James Harris was reported missing by his family around 9 p.m. Monday. According to their report, Harris had gone fishing at a small park near the south end of the Farm To Market 3481 bridge spanning the lake and had not returned.

Several agencies began searching the lake after locating Harris’ vehicle at the park Monday evening. The search was suspended at 2 a.m. Tuesday and resumed at 7 a.m. the same day. Harris’ body was recovered from the lake around 3 p.m. He is believed to have drowned.

An autopsy of Harris’ remains will take place at the Southwest Institute of Forensic Sciences in Dallas as the sheriff’s department and game wardens continue their investigation into his death.
