KWTX's Brandon Hamilton reported that a Central Texas town and police department held a candlelight vigil for the former police chief that was murdered back in 2015.

The Central Texas town where their police chief was murdered was in Marlin. The police chief was Darrell Allen, and he was shot to death while working an off-duty security job in Temple.

On Saturday, the Marlin Police Department held a candlelight vigil for Allen, to remember his life.

Allen's colleagues, family, and friends all came out to show their love for former police chief Darrell Allen.

There were numerous candles lit, and balloons released for the remembrance of Darrell Allen. The man who murdered Allen, was Derrick Wayne Gamble. Gamble was sentenced to 95 years in prison for the murder of Darrell Allen.
