KWTX to Air Documentary Marking One Year Anniversary of West Explosion

One year after the West Fertilizer Plant explosion, KWTX-TV will air a documentary chronicling the blast and the ongoing recovery efforts.

“After West, Forever Forward” will premiere Thursday at 6 p.m. with limited commercial interruption. The film will be narrated by survivors, family members of those lost, first responders, volunteers and elected officials impacted by the explosion that killed 15 people and injured over 160.

3 Dead After Suburban Kansas City Shooting

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. (AP) — Authorities say three people died in a shooting at a Jewish community center and retirement community, and two were shot at but not injured.

Overland Park Police Chief John Douglass said at a news conference Sunday that the person who had been reported to be in critical condition was one of the three dead.

Missouri Funeral for Soldier Killed at Fort Hood

ROLLA, Mo. (AP) — A funeral is planned in Rolla, (RAH'-lah) Mo. for a soldier killed in shootings at Fort Hood, Texas, earlier this month.

The Saturday morning service for Sgt. Timothy Owens will be at First Baptist Church in Rolla. A procession with his casket was Friday evening. He is to be buried with full military honors.
