With summer time coming around, we know things get a little crazy out here in our great state. There is good crazy, such as your pool parties, concerts, and things of that nature. Then there's the bad crazy. like fights, thefts, and even murders.

KCEN recently shared a list of Texas most dangerous cities compiled by Houston's Darrow Law Firm and the Central Texas area has made a prominent mark on it.

The list was compiled using data from the FBI's Uniform Crime Reporting System.

Waco topped the list of cities with a population over 100,000 in murders, with 10.62 homicides for every 100,00 people. (It population is listed as 131,413.) Killeen was number three on the list, with 7.11 homicides per 100,000 people. (It's population was listed as 140,497.) Beaumont came in at number two.

In terms of overall violent crime, Waco came in seventh, while Killeen ranked at number nine.

The FBI is advising the public to take precautions in order to prevent yourself becoming a victim. Have tight-knit bonds with your neighbors, keep your homes heavily lighted, and lock up your valuables.
