KWTX's Taina Maya reported that a couple in the Central Texas area is without their home after a house fire late Wednesday night.

The couple and their two dogs escaped the flames of the fire; but their house near Speegleville was not as fortunate.

The flames overtook the home, and has now left the family without a home. The homeowner called 911 around 11:00 p.m. on Wednesday night, after he opened his back door to see flames shooting into the air.

The man quickly grabbed his wife and their dogs to get to safety as quick as possible. Multiple fire departments had to respond to the scene in order to get the flames extinguished.

Firefighters from Speegleville, China Spring, and Valley Mills responded to the scene of the fire to extinguish it. The firefighters remained at the scene until around 4:30 a.m. on Thursday. The cause of the fire is still presently under investigation.
