KWTX's Chelsea Edwards reported that numerous local businesses and organizations were gathered at the Shades of Black Juneteenth Celebration in Harker Heights on Sunday.

This was a free event to the public, and took place at the Harker Heights Event Center on Edwards Drive.

There were several activities for children such as; a bounce house, dance groups, poets, and singers. There were also caterers present selling barbecue, and also many people selling natural beauty products, fashion accessories, and much more.

These small businesses, got the chance at new exposure by meeting new people while at the Juneteenth Celebration.

Mario Cochran, the host of the event said, "It's a lot of entrepreneurs who are getting started and venturing out - a lot of retired vets who are starting businesses."
