KWTX's Christoper Shadrock reported that despite a power outage in West, the school district continued with classes Wednesday.

A resident told KWTX that the power went out sometime Wednesday morning. West Independent School District reported on the power outage, and said classes would continue at the elementary, middle, and high school despite there being no power. They also added that all of the students were safe.

The district added that there is a plan for lunch for the students, and is discussing options for STARR testing at the high school. Reports from Oncor showed that over 2,000 residents in the area were without power around 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday.
