Traffic problems in the midst of all the construction in Killeen and Harker Heights is nothing to think twice about.  The good news is that at least the potholes were repaired over the weekend.  More growing pains are coming.

Tuesday and Wednesday of this week (3/10 & 3/11), lane closures along Centex Expressway in Killeen will produce sizeable problems for traffic flow.  The following release was found on the city of Killeen website.

Main lane closures on eastbound US 190 are planned Tuesday and Wednesday from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.  All eastbound traffic must exit US 190 at Knight’s Way. Traffic will reenter US 190 before the intersection.

The US 190 entrance ramp just before Stan Schlueter Loop will also be closed during this time. Traffic will use the entrance just before Knight’s Way.  These closures are for construction activities related to the US 190, FM 2410 and Rosewood Drive project.

Motorists should exercise caution and pay close attention to construction signage and workers while in the area.  The City of Killeen apologizes for inconveniences caused by these closures and appreciates your cooperation as we improve this roadway.

Be on the lookout for major headaches if your travels take you through Killeen on Centex Expressway.  Be nice.  Please
