TikToker @llexxij posted a video sharing how she hates Texas Tech, and can’t wait to leave Lubbock. Of course, in the true nature of proud Texas Tech fans, this led her to receive some very harsh comments on her video.

She captioned her video explaining how she will be moving in with her boyfriend six hours away from Lubbock. She also responded to one commenter stating that she is transferring to Texas State. Those two points are what lead to most of the harsh comments.

The one that stood out to me the most was from @macy.davis, and read “do you hate Tech or can you just not live without your boyfriend [and] make an identity for yourself? I’m sorry, but Texas State isn’t gonna be any better.”

Another commenter was also a bit aggressive with his response to her hatred of Texas Tech. User @samdelgado20 asked, “you catch raider rash yet?” I am assuming this was an attempt to diss her for possibly being a party girl and then trying to get out of Lubbock after getting ‘raider rash’.

I would definitely say these comments go a bit too far, but other commenters agreed that transferring to Texas State won’t be very different from Texas Tech.

Most of the other users in the comments were a bit gentler with expressing how much they love Texas Tech and that she hasn’t given it enough of a chance before deciding she hates it. User @maaaadzzz commented, “Not me literally crying [because] I miss LBK.” Another user, @andrearayas4, showed her support for Lubbock by commenting “Nooo way, Tech all the way.”

Everyone has their opinions about different schools, and I personally loved my time at Texas Tech. I will admit that when I first moved to Lubbock, I wasn't too fond of it. I came here from a larger city and it felt like there wasn’t as much to do here. But after making great friends, and spending time to get to know the Hub City, I fell in love with it.

So, if you just moved to Lubbock for school or any other reason, I know it might not seem the best at first, but it really does grow on you. You just have to take the time to get to know the city and what it has to offer.
