A Copperas Cove man remained behind bars Wednesday afternoon after leading police in Bell County on a high speed car chase that ended with a crash.According to a media release from the Texas Department of Public Safety, Bell County DPS attempted to stop a 2016 Subaru Forester for speeding on eastbound US 190 near Bell Tower Drive shortly after 12:20 AM Wednesday.

The driver of the Subaru - 23-year-old Timothy Sedric-Martin Blackwell - sped away, averaging speeds of 115 mph during the pursuit.

The chase continued onto Ivy Mountain Road on Ft. Hood, where Blackwell lost control of his vehicle and crashed through a fence and onto Killeen-Fort Hood Regional Airport property.

Blackwell, who was uninjured, was arrested and taken to the Coryell County Jail. He's been charged with Evading Arrest with a Vehicle - a state jail felony.

A passenger of the car - 29-year-old Candice Nicole Jones of Copperas Cove - was taken to the emergency room of Metroplex Hospital for what DPS officials said were "issues unrelated to the crash".
