The city of Copperas Cove will be under a Stage 4 Emergency Water Conservation which will begin on the 27th of this month and is scheduled to last until March 2nd.

What's the reason? Road Construction.

Yup. It's part of TxDot's widening of FM 116. KCENTV.com says a water transmission line has to be moved, and the city wants to remind residents of some the guidelines during emergency conservation.

You don't want to get a ticket for watering your lawn or washing your car, so make sure you're not doing those things when the conservation is going on. (You may even notice restaurants will not be serving water to customers during this window unless you ask for it.)

Citations will be issued by city of Copperas Cove employees as a Class C Misdemeanor with a fine of up to $1000.

If you have questions about the restrictions or you just want to share your opinion on the imposed reductions, you can find contact information for the water superintendent and public works director at .copperascovetx.gov.
