According to a press release from the Copperas Cove Police Department, between June 1 and June 16, 33 vehicle burglaries have been reported to police with approximately $6,000 in property stolen.

Police report that the most recent burglaries have occurred in subdivisions where the suspect or suspects walked up to cars and pulled on door handles to check if they were locked. Copperas Cove Police are asking citizens to please lock up their vehicles when unattended even for short periods of time and to not leave valuables in plain sight.
