In a highly unusual case originating from Dallas, police arrested North Texas man Christopher Brian Colbert today after he was suspected of impersonating his dead neighbor to sell his Oak Hill house last September.

The decayed remains of Ronald David Shumway, 57, were found within a concrete slab near the backyard of the vacant home about six months ago. Dallas police said Shumway owned the home for over 30 years and that he was missing for six months before his body was found.

Colbert, who alllegedly doctored Shumway's driver's license photo by superimposing his face onto the id, forged signatures on closing documents for the $130,000 sale of the Oak Hill home and went on to spend $40,000 on the deceased's debit card.
