KILLEEN - Police are searching for the driver responsible for a fatal hit and run accident early Sunday morning.  Killeen Police say two men were trying to cross the northbound lanes of state Fort Hood Road north of Highway 190 around 1 a.m..

One of the men was able to safely get across, but the other man was struck by a white pickup truck. The driver of the truck continued driving northbound and did not stop.

The victim was pronounced dead on the scene. The name of the victim has been withheld pending notification of family.

This hit and run continues to be investigated by the Killeen Police Department Traffic Unit.  They are asking anyone who has information about the white pickup to call the Bell County Crime Stoppers at 254-526-TIPS (8477), or go online at www.bellcountycrimestoppers.com.   All information is confidential and you can remain anonymous.  If your tip results in the arrest of the suspect responsible for this crime, you could be eligible for a reward of up to $1000 in cash.
