I am not a snake fan but this seems rather cruel.

In Eaten Alive, naturalist and wildlife filmmaker Paul Rosolie is wearing a  custom-built snake-proof suit covered in pig’s blood. He is swallowed by an Anaconda.  How much of him goes down I do not know.

The segment has already been shot.  Entertainment Weekly says the snake does not die.

EW also got the word from Discovery that this is not a hoax, it is real and they are going to show it.

Not surprisingly PETA, People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals, is pretty upset. The group released a statement which said:

“Not only does this publicity stunt sound far-fetched, it would also be lethal for the snake. Shame on this pseudo ‘wildlife expert’ for tormenting and likely killing an animal for a thrill, and shame on the Discovery Channel for giving him the incentive to do it. PETA has reached out to the Discovery Channel and asked them to pull the show, whether it is a hoax or not.”

Eaten Alive is supposed to air Sunday, Dec. 7.

This just seems wrong in so many ways.  It seems cruel to the snake for one thing.  I don't really care about the man if he is stupid enough to do this.
