KWTX reported that the driver of a vehicle in West, Texas was the victim of a one car crash authorities said on Wednesday.

The driver of the vehicle veered off of a rural road, and crashed into a tree on Tuesday night. The victim of the crash had not had their name released.

Department of Public Safety Sargent, Ryan Howard said, "The accident happened at around 7:30 p.m. Tuesday on FM 1858 near Old Tokio Road west of West."

Investigators at the scene came to the conclusion was heading in the westbound direction in a four-door Chevy, and they were unable to make a turn.

The car exited the roadway as the result of that, and struck the tree. The driver was taken by helicopter to Scott & White Medical Center in Temple, and was pronounced dead.
