Elementary School in Belton Hosts Lunch For Veterans Riding 400 Miles
Lakewood Elementary School in Belton celebrated the United Healthcare Ride 2 Recovery 2016 Texas Challenge today and hosted the lunch break for the Veterans who are on their 400-mile journey.
Ride 2 Recovery is a program for veterans to help restore hope and purpose to our soldiers lives. One hundred and fifty injured veterans will cycle more than 400 miles in the six-day ride. The ride began in Houston on April 11 and will end in Ft. Worth on April 16 traveling through the cities of College Station, Tomball, Georgetown, Killeen, Ft. Hood, Belton, Waco, and Cleburne.
United Healthcare supports the ride by providing all expenses to include the custom-made bicycles for the veterans to housing during the duration of the ride. The meals for the veterans are provided by USO.
