The City of Killeen is inviting residents to show off their Christmas spirit in a home decorating contest, and your fellow citizens will be voting.

The Celebrate Killeen Committee is now accepting entries for their annual contest. You have until midnight Monday, December 10 to enter. All you need to do is visit killeentexas.gov/451/Volunteer-Services and submit this entry form with a photo or photos of your house's holiday decorations.

There's no cost to enter, so if you put a lot of love and effort into lighting up your home for the holidays, feel free to show it off!

The public will vote for their favorites online from December 12 to December 16. Winners will be announced December 20.

If you participate, try not to cause a panic like the home in Austin that featured a fake Clark Griswold hanging from the roof of a home. While the idea was hilarious, it ended up causing a veteran to rush into action trying to save the dummy. (Though it's nice to have a reminder that there are still good people out there willing to drop what they're doing to try to save someone.)
