KWTX reported that fire crews had to extinguish a large fire on Wednesday evening near Lake Waco.

The fire crews were fighting a large brush fire, and the flames spanned out about ten acres of land.

The brutal inferno was reported slightly before 9:00 p.m., and was in the vicinity of McLaughlin Road and Speegleville Road.

Battalion Chief of the Waco Fire Department, Chris Pechacek, said Speegleville Fire Department responded to the fire first and called in for support.

The flames required assistance from the Waco Fire Department, Speegleville Fire Department, and China Spring Fire Department to get the fire extinguished.
