KWTX's Rhyan Henson reports that Waco firefighters had to rescue residents from an apartment complex early Wednesday morning.

The flames broke out around 2:30 a.m in one of the first floor units of the building at Carmel Apartments located at the 3600 block of West Waco Drive.

Chris Pecheck, Waco Fire Battalion Chief said, "The flames crept up the wall, damaging the apartment above and the roof."

Four people  had to be rescued out of windows, six people were displaced by the flames, and two people had to be hospitalized due to minor injuries from the fire. The American Red Cross is helping those families who were displaced due to the flames.
