KWTX's Marco Revuelta reported that many special needs kids had smiles on their faces in Killeen this weekend.

The first Tryathlon took place in Killeen, and it was an event dedicated to showing children with developmental disabilities the fun of competition. The event consisted of parents joining in with their children in running, biking, and swimming.

The children have been training for numerous weeks to be prepared for the competition. The organizer of the event said, the goal of the event is to show children it is important to stay active even with limitations you may have. Organizers are hoping to turn this into an annual event for the children.
