Food For Families Sets a Record in Central Texas

KWTX reported that the numerous donations made to Food for Families this year has resulted in the most successful event in the 29 years of the organization.

The donations to 20 food pantries in 9 Central Texas counties resulted in an estimated total of 2,069,768 pounds of food. That total surpassed the mark of last year by over 70,000 pounds.

KWTX is very ecstatic at the great outcome from the Food for Families event, and are beyond thankful to all of the volunteers who helped contribute in this great cause.

The numerous volunteers for the Central Texas food banks included, H-E-B, Boy Scouts of America, the Masons, and many other organizations.

KWTX is beyond thankful for everyone's participation in this historic mark to help those who are in need.
