A Fort Hood bomb squad was called in to remove a suspicious device found inside a truck at a Waco intersection early Friday morning.

The device was discovered around 11 p.m. during a routine traffic stop by Waco Police on the cross streets of South 18th Street and La Salle Avenue.

The intersection was closed for four and a half hours Thursday night to early Friday morning but the roads have now been cleared.

Bomb experts originally planned to take care of the device on location but decided to move it to Fort Hood to detonate it safely.

The suspect involved is in custody.
