KWTX shared the photo above after a Chinook Helicopter was forced to set down in rural Mills County after experiencing mechanical problems during flight.

Mills County Sheriff’s Office Chief Deputy Chris Green says it all happened Tuesday just after 11:30 am. The Chinook touched down in a field just north of Highway 84. The Sheriff's deputies received an alert from Fort Hood officials who said they lost contact with the pilot and crew for a short period of time.

The crew was able to land safely without incident. Everyone on board was ok. The Chinook is a twin-engine helicopter that does a lot of the heavy lifting and transport work for the army, often used to move troops and cargo from place to place. We are sure glad everyone is ok!
