Fort Hood's Commander Lt. General Mark Milley spoke to the media last night after last night's shooting which left 16 injured and 4 dead, including the shooter. We have the full video, below.

DES officials reported that at approximately 4 p.m. April 2, a Soldier assigned to 13th Sustainment Command (Expeditionary) fired shots at individuals in the 1st Medical Brigade area of Fort Hood. Emergency services responded within 15 minutes. The injured were treated at the scene and transported to area hospitals, while the suspect died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Family notifications are ongoing; the names of the deceased will not be released until 24 hours after the next of kin have been notified. Family members can call the Family Assistance Center Hotline at (254) 288-7570 or (866) 836-2751.

Chaplains have setup family counseling centers on and off post. Locations are the Spirit of Fort Hood Chapel and Scott & White Hospital. The Red Cross Joint Assistance Center is established at the Killeen Community Center, 2201 E. Veterans Memorial Blvd., Killeen, Texas. Monetary donations made be submitted online at www.redcross.org.

Physical training has been cancelled this morning. Soldiers should report to their units at 10 am. Civilians should report at their regular time. Contractors will be notified by their supervisors.

Lt. General Mark Milley has officially identified shooter as Spc. Ivan A. Lopez and confirmed the release of four victims from hospital.
