Fort Hood Soldier Dies From Injuries Received in Motorcycle Crash

The name of a Fort Hood soldier who passed away from injuries he received in a motorcycle accident on April 14 has been released.

Spc. Joseph Edward McDonald was pronounced dead just before 8 a.m. on Monday at Scott & White.

McDonald, 23, whose home of record is listed as Crete, Ill., entered the military in April 2010 as a combat engineer. He was assigned to Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 36th Engineer Brigade, since August 2012.

McDonald received several awards, including the Army Commendation Medal, a National Defense Service Medal and a Global War on Terrorism Service Medal.
