A 22-year-old Fort Hood soldier was in the Coryell County Jail Monday after leading police on a motorcycle chase at speeds in excess of 200 mph Sunday afternoon.

KWTX reports that police tried to stop 22-year-old Shaquille Windsor near W.S. Young Drive in Killeen around 3:45 PM after he was reportedly seen speeding on a high-performance motorcycle.

Windsor refused to stop and led police on a chase down U.S. Highway 190. Police say his bike may have been traveling at as high a speed as 209 mph during the chase.

Windsor later exited 190 at Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. in Cove, where he crashed and then abandoned his vehicle. Windsor fled on foot and was captured by officers a short time later.

Windsor was booked into the Coryell County Jail at 10 PM Sunday and charged with evading arrest or detention with a vehicle and unlawful carry of a weapon.

No bond total for Windsor was listed on the Coryell County Jail inmate roster.
