Hewitt and Woodway police arrested four teenagers early Tuesday morning for their alleged involvement in several auto burglaries.

Paul J. Gately with our news partner, KWTX, reports that the suspects were stealing items from vehicles on the west side of Hewitt.

The authorities are asking anyone to call Hewitt Police Headquarters if you believe you may have had anything stolen from your vehicle overnight.

The four teenagers taken into custody were Elijah Luciano Fajardo, 17, Matthew Douglas Freeby, 18, Daniel Lee Moreno, 18, and Ambrayza Danielle Guerra, 18. Each of the suspects were in the McLennan County Jail Tuesday morning awaiting their bond and arraignment. According to McLennan County Jail records, each of the teenagers is facing a charge of engaging in organized criminal activity.

KWTX reports that a citizen alerted Hewitt Police Chief James Devlin of suspicious activity in the vicinity of Westchester and Buckingham, where police pulled over a car and arrested two of the four teenagers. A short time later, police arrested the other two suspects at another location.

Police recovered many items that the teenagers had stolen from different vehicles, including a handgun. Chief Devlin said he has not had any calls to recover items, but is sure that he will receive some soon. Devlin also noted that all of the cars burglarized were vehicles left unlocked.
