A North Dakota woman has chosen trick over treat this Halloween, leaving us wondering if the Grinch is getting an early start this year.

The woman, identified only as “Cheryl”, will be handing out copies of a letter informing parents in West Fargo that their kids are “moderately obese” and chastising them for allowing their children to eat candy.

The letter begins by wishing everyone a happy Halloween, but things quickly take a sinister turn.

"You are probably wondering why your child has this note," the first paragraph reads. "Have you ever heard the saying, 'It takes a village to raise a child'? I am disappointed in "the village" of Fargo Moorhead, West Fargo."

You (sic) child is, in my opinion, moderately obese and should not be consuming sugar and treats to the extent of some children this Halloween season.

My hope is that you will step up as a parent and ration candy this Halloween and not allow your child to continue these unhealthy eating habits.

In a radio interview Tuesday, “Cheryl” said “I just want to send a message to parents of kids that are really overweight. I think it’s just really irresponsible for parents to send them out looking for free candy just because all the other kids are doing it.”

She went on to say that she refuses to contribute to childhood obesity because she considers the children who might knock on her door “everybody’s kids”.

What do you think? Is she a super hero or a real witch?
