On Tuesday, Harker Heights officials discussed the possibility of dedicating four of five of the southernmost acres of the city to recreation and preservation of Bell County heritage.

One item discussed was a half-mile trail circulating through various replicas, such as a Conestoga wagon, and Indian cave dwelling, and Camp Hood. Children would be able to interact with life-size exhibits.

Officials also hope to incorporate a plan tying history in with nature.

Various aspects of the plan, such as vandalism concerns, commercialization, and construction of an amphitheater were also debated.
