If I feel like getting sauced over the weekend, I tend to steer towards Harker Heights. While the city isn't as large as its neighbors, Harker Heights still has a sizable population of over 28,000 which makes it the 103rd largest community in the lone star state.

After receiving feedback on the safest neighborhoods in neighboring city Temple, we wanted to take a look at the Heights and rank the four major neighborhoods from safest to most dangerous, according to the very up-to-date neighborhoodscout.com.

But don't fret too much - Harker Heights is relatively safe compared to the rest of Texas. The average rate of murder in HH is 0 out of every 1,000 citizens, though there's a 1-in-375 chance of being a victim of a violent crime (compared to 1-in-246 in the state of Texas).

Property crime is on par with the state of Texas as 1-in-35 people will be a victim to it, however there is almost double the amount of petty crimes in Harker Heights compared to the rest of the United States. Check out the detailed statistics here.

From safest to most dangerous:

  1. E Fm 2410 Rd / Mountain Lion Rd
  2. Stillhouse Lake Dr / E Fm 2410 Rd
  3. City Center
  4. S Ann Blvd / W Fm 2410 Rd
