Temple Firefighters are once again teaming up with the Muscular Dystrophy Association to help victims of neuromuscular diseases and their families.

As part of the annual Fill the Boot campaign, firefighters will occupy street corners across the city Thursday-Saturday, April 3-5 to accept donations from motorists. Donations may also be left at the Temple Fire Training Academy at 7268 Airport Road on those dates between the hours of 9 am and 6 pm.

2014 marks the 60th year of the partnership between the International Association of Firefighters and the MDA. According to a press release issued Monday by Temple Fire & Rescue, Temple firefighters collected over $36,000 in 2013. Those funds helped provide health services to local families as well as assistance with repairs of medical equipment and equipment loan programs.
