A family in Killeen received a rude awakening on Thursday morning at their residence. KWTX's Kathleen Serie reported that there were no injuries in a morning fire in Killeen.

Fire crews responded to the 7100 block of Bose Ikard Dr. around 7:08 a.m. on reports of a fire taking place at a residence. When the crews arrived, two of the three residents that live at the home were inside during the fire.

Fire officials said they opened up the door to the garage, saw lots of smoke, and were able to get those other two people out of the home. No other structures were damaged in the area from the fire, but officials said the garage was highly damaged. Also, the rest of the house received lots of smoke damage.

The fire officials said the family has a place to stay, and the American Red Cross has been notified of the family's loss. The cause behind the fire, is still currently under investigation.
